Our babies aint babies like we think they are
They been at war since they were born
They’ve grown in a world where most photos are square But not polaroid
They are unafraid of the world they don’t know
They Google before they ask, they understand before they listen
Our babies have been tasked with making decisions we don’t want to commit to
They are existentially aware and most of all they are prepared to learn and build.
So how do we engage them?
We bring them on stage with us
We stop trying to design for them and let them design with us
The Cultural Hackathon will be a space for all ages to tackle social problems
Because the most oppressed are often our youth
And their liberation can and must be designed with them at the table
Enable youth to work out the kinks of their generation
Give them a chance to redesign this nation
Because our babies aint babies like we think they are
